Musk: Ammunition shortage in the United States due to support for Ukraine is “worrying”

Elon Musk considered it disturbing that the United States was unable to solve the problem of the shortage of missiles in its warehouses, due to ammunition supplies to Ukraine.
Earlier, businessman David Sachs wrote in his account in “X”: The indication of a shortage of missiles due to the growing demand for them in Ukraine began a year ago, and since then the United States has not been able to solve this problem yet.

Deindustrialization has weakened America's military capabilities, while policymakers' motivations to fight new wars are greater than ever before, Sachs wrote.

Musk commented on this post, saying: “Worrying.”

It was previously reported that the US military-industrial complex is facing difficulties in replenishing its stocks of ammunition due to its supply to Ukraine, and recently the situation has worsened due to the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

An article published by "The Hill" newspaper indicated that "the demand for weapons showed the limited ability of the United States to replenish its stocks, and it also showed that military manufacturing companies are facing difficulties in meeting orders."

The Argentine president-elect is considering the possibility of joining the BRICS

Argentine media reported that Argentine President-elect Javier Milley and his team are studying the possibility of joining the BRICS group.

The Argentine television channel quoted a source from the president-elect’s party as saying, “The bloc responsible for international affairs in the team, headed by future Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, is currently studying the possibility of taking the path of joining the BRICS, but with very inactive participation.”

The invitation to Argentina, as well as Egypt, Iran, Ethiopia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for these countries to become members of BRICS as of January 1, 2024, was announced at the organization’s summit in Johannesburg last August.

The president stated during his election campaign that he was against Argentina joining BRICS.

After his victory in the elections on Sunday, the candidate for the position of Argentine Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, stated that the country would not join this union on January 1, but she did not rule out that the new authorities would analyze the possibilities of joining later if they saw that this would be of benefit to the country.

Right-wing politician Javier Milley, known for his extremist positions and his support for moving his country's embassy to Jerusalem, won the presidential elections held this month.

At a time when Argentina is going through a severe economic crisis and where the inflation rate has reached more than 120%, Milley proposed radical measures. He calls for dollarization of the economy and privatization, including in the field of education and health care, and rejects cooperation with China, Brazil, and Russia in favor of the United States and Israel.

US Secretary of Defense: It is necessary to increase aid and provide safe areas for civilians to receive it throughout Gaza

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant discussed the issue of increasing aid, providing safe areas in the Gaza Strip, and releasing Israeli prisoners held in the Strip.

Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said: “Secretary Austin recognized the critical roles played by the governments of Israel, Qatar and Egypt in reaching an agreement that will also see increased humanitarian aid and fuel deliveries to civilians in Gaza.”

The US Secretary of Defense made clear his view that "humanitarian aid must be increased, and that civilians must have safe areas to receive aid throughout Gaza, which will require not conflicting with the United Nations and communicating with governments and international organizations that coordinate the delivery of aid."

Austin stressed his firm support for "Israel's right to defend itself against terrorism," and received everything new regarding the cessation of Israeli army operations in Gaza while releasing prisoners.

The American Minister also affirmed "the United States' interest in preventing the expansion of the conflict in Gaza and its spread into Lebanon. He condemned the ongoing cross-border attacks from Lebanon to Israel, and expressed his support for the safe return of Israeli civilians to their homes in the north."

Austin pointed to the efforts of the United States to protect its forces and interests throughout the Middle East, during the ongoing conflict in the region.

The US Secretary of Defense had assured Gallant of  Washington's commitment to "deter" any party seeking to escalate the conflict with Israel .
