China unveils a new generation, locally made computer processor

Tunisian African fans renew solidarity with giant signs

Chinese chip manufacturer Loongson Technology has developed a new generation computer processor Loongson 3A6000.
On Tuesday, November 28, the Chinese company Loongson Technology unveiled a new generation of the Loongson 3A6000 computer processor made locally, Chinese Central Television reported.

A Chinese TV channel indicated that the Loongson 3A6000 processor uses a set of commands and a design architecture that was independently developed in China, and no licensed foreign technology was relied upon.

The TV channel said, “The unveiling of the processor indicates that China’s independently developed CPUs have reached new heights in terms of independent control ability and specifications, with performance reaching the level of leading international products.”

The company also unveiled its Loongson 2P0500 printer controller, which will help bring more Chinese-made printers to the market.

It is noteworthy that in recent years, the United States of America has been steadily practicing a policy of technological containment of China, which limits Chinese companies’ access to advanced technologies, especially to semiconductors. However, Bloomberg said that these restrictions did not prevent Huawei from launching the flagship Huawei Mate 60 smartphone this year with a chip that does not lag far behind advanced American technology.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, after the launch of the Huawei smartphone, that sanctions, containment, and repression will not stop China’s development, but rather will strengthen its determination and ability to become independent and self-reliant in the field of scientific and technological innovation.
