"X" is studying new subscription options with additional benefits

The “X” platform (Twitter) is preparing to launch new options for the Premium subscription, including the option to subscribe without ads, as the details in the application code now indicate three versions of the Premium subscription.

The Premium subscription allows access to some exclusive features that are not available to regular users, and there is currently only one level that allows you to access all the privileges that the platform offers.

The updated X database now indicates:

Premium Basic: Users on this low-priced subscription see full in-feed ads.Premium Standard: Users on this subscription see half the amount of in-feed ads.Premium Plus: Users on this higher-priced subscription won't see any in-feed ads.

X is looking to generate more interest in its subscription by making it cheap for people to purchase the Blue Label, even though they won't get the same benefits as the current $8-a-month version.

It is not known at this time if people are getting the blue tick, although it is assumed that the cheaper version of Premium still includes the paid verification tick.

X, Meta, and TikTok are currently exploring ad-free subscription offers as a way to attract more users to their subscription plans.

The Washington Post reported that the move toward paid, ad-free access may actually fall in line with European Union rules on data collection, which essentially require social apps to provide a way for users to opt out of data tracking if they choose.

These companies can continue to use data tracking tools by offering a paid option, where users technically have a way to opt out, ensuring companies continue to make money while also complying with evolving laws.

Elon Musk indicated last month that new pricing levels were coming to Premium, while Musk also hinted at pushing more users towards subscribing to access the app as a way to combat the rise of bots.

X currently generates about $12 per user per month based on ad viewing, based on internal insights, so the subscription price should be equivalent to that number to eliminate the need to display ads.

An innovative alternative to acupuncture injections in the arm to deliver medication

Some people are uncomfortable with getting needles, and sometimes it is necessary to be treated with certain medications that can only be given by injection. But the good news for these people is that there could be an imminent change thanks to the invention of the suction cup that is placed in the mouth, according to what was published by the New Atlas website, citing the journal Science Translational Medicine.

The origin of the problem

The problem with injectable-only pharmaceuticals is the fact that they are composed of relatively large molecules. These molecules are broken down by the digestive system if the drug is taken orally, and are too large to enter the bloodstream by passing through the intestinal walls. It is also too large to pass through the mucous membrane that forms the inner lining of the cheeks (known as the buccal mucosa) and the underside of the tongue.

Innovative solution

An innovative solution to this problem has been found with a suction cup inspired by an octopus lollipop. The 10mm wide and 6mm thick device, devised by scientists at the Swiss Research Institute Zurich, is loaded with the drug in question, then attached to the lining of the cheek. Once pressed into place with two fingers, the vacuum that forms inside the cup causes the mucous membrane underneath to expand, making it more permeable.

Permeability without disturbance

In order to further enhance this permeability, a naturally derived chemical is added to the drug, which temporarily relaxes the membrane's cell network. The drug payload is thus delivered across the buccal mucosa into the bloodstream within only a few minutes.

The empty cups were trialled on 40 people, most of whom reported that they preferred the delivery method to receiving acupuncture injections. The cups remained attached to the volunteers' cheek lining for up to half an hour, without causing any discomfort.

Patents and pharmaceutical regulations

Researcher Nevena Paunovic from the Zurich Institute, who led the study with fellow researcher David Klein Cerigon, said that there is “a prototype, which has already received a patent for the technology,” noting that “the next step is to manufacture the suction cup in a way that is compatible with current pharmaceutical regulations.” According to global standards.
