The Russian Federation responds to a question about funding from UEFA

The Secretary General of the Russian Football Federation, Maxim Mitrofanov, answered a question about continued funding from the European Football Association (UEFA).

Mitrofanov said: “We receive money from the European Football Association under the hat-trick program and we submit an annual report. There is a small fixed part, there is a part for implementing initiatives, and there is an investment part.”

“We got all three parts,” he continued. He added that the Federation receives five million euros annually, while the organization pays a membership fee of 250 Swiss francs annually.

The Hat Trick program was created to provide financial support to UEFA member associations to develop football at all levels.

In February 2022, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian national teams from participating in international tournaments.

The teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team lost the opportunity to compete to reach the 2022 World Cup finals.

The 57-year-old boxer said that there will be no fight according to boxing rules against 47-year-old Emelianenko, and the reason is that “the Russian is my idol.”

On February 5, Fedor Emelianenko lost to American Ryan Bader by knockout in the first round. The fight took place within the Bellator 290 tournament, and the fight was a farewell for the Russian legend in the heavyweight division.
