The Chinese Ministry of Defense announced that the military of India and China agreed, during the new round of negotiations, to maintain peace and tranquility on the border between the two countries, and to resolve the border dispute as quickly as possible.
A statement issued by the ministry on Thursday said: “The two parties exchanged views in a frank, open and forward-looking manner, and agreed to maintain interaction and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels and resolve outstanding issues as quickly as possible.”
The statement added that the two sides also agreed to "maintain peace and tranquility on the Sino-Indian border."
On October 9 and 10, India and China held the 20th round of negotiations at the corps commander level at the Chushul-Moldo border checkpoint.
There is a long-standing territorial dispute between India and China over approximately 60,000 square kilometers in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, in addition to a large area in northern Kashmir. The Line of Actual Control, which replaces the border between the two countries, runs in the Ladakh region.
A new escalation began in Ladakh in May 2020. After that, New Delhi and Beijing increased their military presence in the region. In early September 2022, India and China also implemented a new phase of withdrawing their forces on the border, but they did not resolve all the border issues, so negotiations between the two countries are still ongoing.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said, "Rescue work is going on war footing at the place where the train coaches derailed in Buxar. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), district administration, railway officials and local residents are working as a team. The injured have been taken to the hospital. The war room is working.
The train with a total of 23 coaches left Delhi's Anand Vihar Terminal at 7.40 am on Wednesday.
Birendra Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway Zone, told PTI that the accident occurred when the train left for Ara less than half an hour from Buxar station. “The train bogies derailed near Raghunathpur station,” he said.
Relief and rescue measures were started immediately after the incident and ambulances and doctors were sent to the spot. The official said that a 'scratch rake' has been sent from Patna to take the passengers from the accident site. A 'scratch rake' is a temporary rake which is similar to the original train.
Railway Police Force Inspector Deepak Kumar told reporters, "Medical teams have been sent to the spot." He said that the district administration has also alerted the hospitals of Buxar city. “We have sent rescue and medical teams to the spot,” he said. Railways has also issued emergency helpline numbers for passengers.
A helpline number has also been issued by Danapur Railway Division regarding the incident. It has been written on behalf of the Railways that some coaches of train number 12506 North East Express have derailed.

And instructions have been given to make proper medical arrangements for the injured. Bihar government is actively engaged in rescue, relief and treatment of the victims and injured.
