The Saudi Embassy in Japan confirmed the safety of Saudi citizens, after the earthquake that struck the eastern coast of Japan yesterday (Thursday).

An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale struck off the eastern coast of Japan yesterday, and Japan issued a warning of a tsunami with a height of one meter for the islands located off the Izu Peninsula on the eastern coast of the country.

The Japanese Meteorological Agency explained that the earthquake occurred at 11 a.m. near Torishima Island, and its epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean, about 550 kilometers south of the capital, Tokyo.
