The New York Times quoted informed sources as saying that Israel had asked the United States for emergency aid worth $10 billion.
According to the report, the White House is drafting a bill to provide aid to Israel, which would link it to the aid that the Biden administration seeks to provide to Ukraine as well.
This could make it difficult to get approval for the package in the House of Representatives, where Republicans have a majority and some oppose aid to Kiev, but the bill will reportedly include money to fortify the southern border between the United States and Mexico, a major demand made by Republicans.
Washington: We are ready to work constructively with Russia on returning to the START 3 treaty.
The United States declared its readiness to “work constructively” with Russia on returning to the Strategic Offensive Arms Restriction Treaty (START III) and working on a new arms control regime.
The US representative to the Conference on Disarmament, Bruce Turner, said during a session of the relevant committee of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday: “We are ready to work constructively with Russia on the path towards the full implementation of the START 3 Treaty and to work on reducing nuclear risks and on a system to control nuclear weapons.” Nuclear weapons after 2026 (after the expiration of START 3).”
The American delegate added that Washington calls on Moscow not to abandon the conclusion of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, which "endangers comprehensive norms against nuclear tests."
It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 21 that Russia was suspending its participation in the Treaty on the Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms, but it did not withdraw from it permanently.
Russia stressed that the nuclear weapons control system must include the nuclear arsenals of other NATO countries, namely Britain and France.
That's quite possible.
