Hungary confirms the failure of Western sanctions against Russia

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that Western sanctions against Russia have failed to hit the Russian economy or reach a settlement to the Ukrainian crisis, contrary to the expectations of the European Union.

He added in an interview with the Russian "Novosti" agency: "We need to discuss the extent of the impact of the sanctions on Russia, and who will harm us or Moscow the most, and whether they have any meaning, and whether they have achieved any practical results on the ground and achieved their goals, specifically the goal of subjugating Russia economically." To reach a settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

He continued: "Did we succeed in that or not? Personally, I do not think so, and it is clear that it did not succeed."
The European Union has stopped examining this issue at the present time, and concluded that “as soon as the issue of sanctions against Russia is raised by any country, it is pushed into a corner and humiliated.”

After the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, Western countries announced the freezing of Russian assets , and imposed all the sanctions and restrictions they could on dealing with Russia to no avail.

Putin described the policy of containing and weakening Russia as a long-term strategy for the West, noting that the sanctions dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.

Moscow: The West did not find any evidence that Russia violated sanctions against North Korea

Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador for Special Duties Oleg Burmistrov indicated that the West closely followed the visit of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Russia in search of Moscow's violation of sanctions on Pyongyang.

Burmistrov said in an interview with the "Novosti" agency: "It seems that the visit of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Russia was a surprise for the West. His trip to the Russian Far East was put under a magnifying glass in order to search for Russia's possible violation of sanctions. But, as we see, "Our opponents have found no evidence of this."

Last September, Kim Jong Un visited Russia for the first time since 2019 and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 13 at the Vostochny Cosmodrome.

Kim visited the Gagarin Aviation Factory in the city of Komsomolsk on the Amur River in the Russian Far East, and learned about the civilian Superjet 100 aircraft, attended a test flight of the fifth-generation Russian Su-35 fighter, and also visited a number of military factories in the region.
