In Bihar, backward class is 27.13%, extremely backward class is 36.01%, general class is 15.52%. The total population of Bihar is more than 13 crores. Muslim population in Bihar is 17.07 percent. OBC and EBC constitute 63 percent of the total population.According to the caste survey, the total population of Scheduled Castes in Bihar is 2 crore 56 lakh 89 thousand 820. And this is 19.65 percent of the total population. Whereas the population of Scheduled Tribes in Bihar is 21 lakh 99 thousand 361.
