Mass demonstrations were launched in a number of Canadian cities on Wednesday as a result of school policies on promoting homosexuality and attempts to marginalize the role of parents.
The demonstrations called for protecting children from policies that promote homosexuality in Canadian schools.
Thousands of people participated in the demonstrations in the capital, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, and a large number of cities in the country, chanting slogans calling for protecting children and not imposing sexual orientations on them.
Weeks ago, a group called “1MillionMarch4Children” called on citizens to participate in a march against “gender ideology” and policies that impose sexual orientations on students in Canadian schools.
After his meeting with Netanyahu, Musk proposes charging a small monthly amount for using “X”
Elon Musk, owner of 'X', proposed imposing a small monthly payment for using the platform, after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and raising the issue of anti-Semitic posts on the Internet.
Elon Musk, owner of the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), suggested charging a “small monthly sum” for using the social network, to limit the number of automated accounts on it. Although it is an economically logical step, it may “eliminate” the network’s user base, according to experts.
During a meeting with Elon Musk on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu raised the issue of anti-Semitic posts on the Internet and the method that “X” can adopt “to prevent armies of automated accounts from replicating and amplifying them.”
Musk replied that the company is "moving towards requiring a small monthly payment for using the X system."
He stressed that, in his opinion, it is “the only way to fight massive armies of automated accounts.”
This proposal sparked the discontent of the social network's users, whose number has now reached "550 million monthly," according to Musk. As of May 2022, Twitter reported that the number of its daily active users was about 230 million.
Musk has made a large number of changes at Twitter since his acquisition of the network for $44 billion in October 2022.
Musk reported in July that the platform had lost about half of its advertising revenue.
