Formula 1 : Verstappen does not feel threatened by Ferrari's performance at the Italian GP
Jakarta - Red Bull racer Max Verstappen admitted that he did not feel threatened by Ferrari's good performance in the qualifying round and main race of this weekend's Italian Grand Prix.
"We had a good Saturday, I think, but from the first day, (Ferrari) started working very strongly, and that's no problem," said Verstappen, as broadcast on the official Formula 1 website, Sunday.
The Dutch racer will start the main race today between two Ferrari drivers, namely Carlos Sainz in P1 and Charles Leclerc in P3.
“From our side, I think we improved our car well on Saturday, but then we failed (to get pole) in qualifying, but the gap (with Ferrari) was very small. "Tomorrow, hopefully we can show again that we are good on tires, and that's what we want to do quickly," said Verstappen.

Asked about how big a threat he expects Ferrari to face in race conditions, he did not have a specific prediction.
"It's hard to say at the moment. They excel in qualifying, but hopefully later in terms of tire condition we can get it (win)," he said.
On the other hand, Verstappen's teammate, Sergio Perez, had to settle for fifth on the grid, behind Mercedes driver George Russell.
“We had a great Friday. Unfortunately we didn't manage to capitalize on our strong pace for qualifying, but I'm still optimistic for tomorrow; we are in P5, we are behind George, but it is a good position to fight for a good result tomorrow," said Perez.
“Ferrari looked very strong all weekend, but let's see. "It's not surprising that they were so strong and solid in qualifying, so we'll see what we can do," added the racer from Mexico.
Meanwhile, Verstappen will start the Italian Grand Prix aiming to set a new record for consecutive F1 wins and go 10 races unbeaten, while Red Bull has its sights set on 15 wins in a row.
