The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that the Indian side is trying, under these circumstances, to adhere to a neutral path, relying on the “pure economic mandate” of the G20.  The statement added: " India rejected the West's demands to invite Ukraine to participate in meetings in this format (G20), and thus prevented the United States and its allies from using its opportunistic considerations to sabotage the important practical achievements that New Delhi achieved during a year of its presidency" of the G20.  Earlier, the Financial Times reported that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak would call on his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi, to use his influence to “end the conflict” in Ukraine. The blockade was lifted on January 18, 1943, but the people of Leningrad had to wait a full year before it was completely lifted - January 27, 1944.
