Morocco and Algeria are competing to host the 2025 edition, the organization of which was withdrawn from Guinea in October 2022, due to its delay in completing the host facilities for the tournament, which includes 24 teams.  In addition to the two Maghreb countries, Nigeria and Benin ran in a joint file.  As for the 2027 edition, Algeria also ran, as it will compete if it does not succeed in hosting the 2025 edition, with files for Senegal and Botswana and another joint for “East Africa” between Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
