Jakarta - The Free Fire Master League (FFML) Season 8 esports tournament officially started on Friday with the values of diversity, inclusivity, sustainability, and being open to professional teams and communities in Indonesia.
As quoted from an official statement on Saturday, as many as 18 professional teams and the best community teams from all over Indonesia will compete for the title and a total prize of IDR 1.2 billion.
The FFML Season 8 series was also carried out through the Free Fire Nusantara Series (FFNS) from early May to the end of July 2023.
Starting from the City Qualifiers in 65 cities, Region Qualifiers in 10 regions, to the Open Qualifiers and Main Stage, a series of open qualifiers FFNS has been participated by more than 500,000 teams from all over Indonesia.
Out of half a million teams, seven of the strongest teams have made it through to enter the main stage of FFML Season 8 including four of which are community teams.
The four community teams that advanced to FFML Season 8 are Persis X Oke (Tangerang), Garuda Wisnu HellCard (Serang), Marawa X Jogja NC (Yogyakarta), and Volker Legends DXL (Kendari).

The total spending exceeded two billion pounds sterling for the first time in the history of the English club transfer market, before the deals concluded yesterday, Friday, including the transfer of Matthews Nunez from Wolverhampton to Manchester City for 53 million pounds sterling.
Callum Ross, associate director of the sports business group at Deloitte, told the British news agency (PA Media) that the numbers reflect a tremendously accelerated growth in the wealth of this league and the volume of spending in the transfer market.
Deloitte's analysis shows that the transfer market this summer broke the previous record for the total amount of English clubs spending on transfers.
