Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic the relations between the two countries and regional issues, and praised the importance of Serbia as a pivotal country for peace and stability in the Balkans.
The meeting of the two presidents took place today, Sunday, in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, which they are visiting to participate in the celebrations of the founding day of the state of Hungary.
It is expected that the Turkish president will attend, as part of his visit, part of the activities of the World Athletics Championships held in the country.
The meeting between the two presidents from the Turkish side was attended by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alp Arslan Bayraktar, Youth and Sports Osman Ashkin Pak, Industry and Technology Muhammad Fatih Kajar, and Trade Omar Polat, in addition to senior presidential advisors in Ankara.
Earlier on Sunday, Erdogan discussed with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban a number of regional and global issues, including the issue of Sweden's accession to NATO .

He said that the West's efforts go beyond the group's mandate and negatively affect the forum's agenda.
He added, "The forum is under the negative influence of the current difficult international situation, and the western side is actively escalating the level of confrontation on the platform of the forum, and is trying to bring geopolitical issues that go beyond the League's mandate into the discussions."
He pointed out that the Russian Federation constantly views the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum as the leading forum for economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, and an important tool for creating a favorable trade and investment environment and stimulating innovation.
He stressed Moscow's determination to remove all artificial barriers within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Forum, and considers the association a priority for diplomacy.
He explained that "work in the economic forum is one of the main areas of Russian multilateral diplomacy, along with cooperation in the Group of Twenty, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization."
