AI and Future of Mankind: Artificial Intelligence bots have been in discussion for some time now. Geoffrey Hinton, known as the Godfather of AI, has resigned from Google. Along with this, he has given some warnings about AI, which are frightening. He has said that soon AI will overtake humans in the matter of intelligence. Let's know the whole matter.
You might not have heard the name of Geoffrey Hinton, but in the world of AI, he is called the Godfather. Geoffrey Hinton's name is widely discussed in the world of Artificial Intelligence. Hinton has resigned from Google at the age of 75. Along with this, he has also warned about some of the growing dangers regarding AI.
According to the New York Times report, Geoffrey Hinton has resigned from Google. He has also expressed remorse for his work. Hinton has told about some of the better scary threats regarding AI chatbots. He said, 'As far as I can tell, at the moment they are not more intelligent than us. But I believe they will happen soon.
Why is it called godfather?
Dr. Hinton's research on deep learning and neural networks has laid the foundation for today's popular AI systems. Hinton found the way to popular AI bots like ChatGPT . He told in an interview that chatbots will soon cross the level of human brain information.
Geoffrey Hinton said, 'At the moment we are seeing things like GPT-4, which can beat a layman in terms of general knowledge. Although, they are not that good in terms of reasoning, but they are definitely doing simple reasoning. He told, 'Looking at the rate of progress, it is expected that things will improve rapidly. That's why we need to worry about it.
What are you afraid of?
According to the New York Times report, Dr. Hinton has talked about bad actors, who can use AI for bad things. He said that this would happen in a very bad scenario. Hinton said that you imagine that someday a bad person gives robots the ability to create their goals.
He has expressed concern that these AI robots can set sub-goals to make themselves more powerful. He said that I have come to the conclusion that the kind of intelligence we are developing is very different from what we have. We are biological systems and they are digital systems.
He said that the biggest difference between the two is that in the digital system you can make many copies like that. These copies can learn different things at the same time separately, but they can also share information with each other. Meaning as soon as one copy learns something, others will automatically learn that thing. In this way these chatbots will know more than a human.
Samsung has banned its employees from using popular generative AI tools like ChatGPT, after employees were discovered to have uploaded sensitive code to the platform.
South Korea-based Suwon notified employees at one of its largest divisions on Monday about the new policy.
According to the document, the company is concerned that data sent to these AI platforms including Google Bard and Bing is stored on external servers, making it difficult to retrieve and delete, and may end up being disclosed to other users.
The company conducted a survey last month about the use of AI tools internally, and said that 65% of respondents believe such services pose a security risk. Earlier in April, Samsung engineers accidentally leaked the internal source code by uploading it to ChatGPT.
"Interest in generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT is growing both internally and externally," Samsung told staff. "While this interest is focused on the usefulness and efficiency of these platforms, there are also growing concerns about the security risks presented by generative AI."
Samsung's new rules prohibit the use of generative AI systems on the company's computers, tablets and phones, as well as on its internal networks.
These decisions do not affect the company's devices sold to consumers, such as Android smartphones and Windows laptops.
Samsung asked employees who use ChatGPT and other tools on personal devices not to send any company-related information or personal data that could reveal its intellectual property. She warned that violating the new policies could lead to expulsion.
