A document filed in a California court on April 4 indicates that Twitter merged with a company called X Corp, and that Twitter "no longer exists" as a separate company.
The move means the app is now part of Musk's X Holdings Corp, which is described as the future parent company of all of his companies, which include Neuralink, SpaceX, Tesla and The Boring Company.
Musk's tweet comes with a single letter "X" to recall what he said in the past that buying Twitter would be an "acceleration" to create X, or "apply everything."
The merger was only announced after lawyers for the social media company were forced to disclose it in an ongoing lawsuit involving losing congressional candidate and right-wing activist Laura Loomer.
It is noteworthy that the lawsuit was filed against Twitter and its former CEO, Jack Dorsey, during the year 2020 by Lomer.
Russian censors see no reason to unblock Twitter in Russia
Roscom-Nadzor (Russian Oversight Committee) now sees no reason to unblock access to the foreign social network Twitter in Russia.
It is known that the administration of the electronic platform has not yet removed about 1,300 banned items in Russia.
This was reported by the Russian agency "Novosti", quoting the "Roscom Nadzor" corporation. A spokesman for the authority said: "There are currently no reasons to lift the restrictions imposed on foreign servers."
The authority stated that Russian users do not face a shortage of ways to obtain information and communicate via the Internet, while Twitter still contains prohibited materials such as child pornography, propaganda for suicide and drugs, calls for participation in riots and fake materials about the Russian army.
"Twitter continues to promote other types of destructive content that contradict traditional Russian spiritual values," she added.
It is noteworthy that the electronic newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda.ru" had reported earlier that some deputies in the State Duma (the Russian parliament) proposed lifting the restrictions imposed on "Twitter", as this site could become an appropriate platform for spreading the Russian position in the world.
