Jakarta (ANTARA) - Aruba. It Ducati rider Alvaro Bautista claimed his 400th victory for Ducati after standing on the highest podium of Race 2 World Superbike (WSBK) at the Assen Circuit, Netherlands, Sunday.

Quoted from the official statement of WSBK, Ducati became the first manufacturer to achieve this milestone because Bautista also won his 40th victory in WSBK.

Bautista's win not only gave Ducati their 400th WSBK victory, but it was also their 700th race on the podium.

On the other hand, Toprak now has 90 podiums to his name while his teammate Locatelli has 10.

Meanwhile, the top six list is filled by Dominique Aegerter (GYTR GRT Yamaha) who is 9.445 seconds adrift; Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing) by 9.500 seconds; and Remy Gardner (GRT Yamaha GYTR Team) by 12.279 seconds.

Yamaha ensures that Toprak is still in WSBK Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Yamaha racing team has ensured that racer Toprak Razgatlioglu will still be focused on competing in the World Superbike (WSBK) event instead of joining the MotoGP class. Toprak's manager and five-time WorldSSP champion, Kenan Sofuoglu, said both parties agreed to continue to develop in WSBK as the main and common target for now. “Our first choice is to continue with Yamaha. We will start talking about the future of Toprak from our side and also from Yamaha's side. The first goal is to do a mutual agreement and then we have to decide which way to go, MotoGP or WorldSBK," said Sofuoglu. Sofuoglu, who raced in WSBK in 2008 and also ventured into the MotoGP paddock for two seasons in Moto2 between 2010 and 2011, explained how he tried to steer Toprak into staying in WSBK. “I always tell him to stay in WSBK. Years ago, I took Toprak and built it for WSBK. I didn't make it for MotoGP. He is very talented, maybe more talented than most MotoGP riders, but MotoGP is a different world. I believe to be a MotoGP racer, you have to develop there," he explained. “Toprak grew up here. WSBK is Toprak's home. I told Toprak, 'we're building you for WSBK and for the next 10 years, you can have a great career here',” he added. Rumors about Toprak joining MotoGP surfaced when the manufacturer entrusted him with testing the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP motorbike at the Jerez Circuit, Spain, some time ago. He tested the motorbike for two days with Yamaha test rider Cal Crutchlow.
