Gujarat government is also considering

In Gujarat too, the BJP government has talked about forming a committee for Uniform Civil Code. There the cabinet has approved but the formation has not yet taken place. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in the state. After the draft report of the committee of Uttarakhand comes, other states will also be helped in making laws on the basis of the same. Similarly, if the center wants later, then on the basis of that draft report, it can consider bringing a uniform civil code for the whole country.

Law Minister Kiren Rijiju had told Parliament that the 22nd Law Commission, set up in November last year, would look into the Uniform Civil Code.
