The Palestinian armed group "The Lions' Den" announced that 3 of its members were killed in a clash with the Israeli army in the northern West Bank. Palestinian factions condemned the death of Palestinians by bullets near the city of Nablus, vowing that Tel Aviv would respond to this new "crime".
The Palestinian "Lions' Den" group announced on Sunday that 3 of its members were killed in a clash with the Israeli army in the northern West Bank.
The group said in a statement that "after careful monitoring of the Golani unit (of the Israeli army) at the Surra checkpoint (near Nablus), one of our fighting groups moved to ambush this unit and engage them."
She added, "It became clear to us that the members of this unit ambushed our combat group, so the members of the group decided to infiltrate the soldiers of this unit into a larger and wider ambush, and the engagement took place from zero distance before our fighters distributed in the area."
The statement stated that "the members of the group, who numbered three, were martyred, and they are Jihad al-Shami, Uday al-Shami, and Muhammad al-Dabeek."
The armed Palestinian group threatened the Israeli army, saying, "The lions' den is moving in search of you everywhere and at all times, and that the series of revenge operations continues."
In this regard, Palestinian factions condemned on Sunday the Israeli army's killing of 3 Palestinians near the city of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, vowing that Tel Aviv would respond to this new "crime".
Emphasizing that the Israeli government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to "export its internal crises," the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) said in a statement, "This crime confirms that the occupation government seeks to escalate the situation."
And "Fatah" added that "the policy of the so-called (mowing the lawn) practiced by the occupation will not work, nor will it intimidate our people, who will continue their struggle until the establishment of their independent state," calling on the international community to "immediately intervene to curb the criminal tendency of the occupation system."
While the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said in a statement, "The escalation of the occupation's crimes against our people and its desecration of sanctities will be met with more steadfastness and resistance... Our people will strike the usurping enemy in all areas of our occupied land until its demise."
"The execution of the three Palestinians is a new heinous crime recorded in the record of the occupation," Tariq Ezz El-Din, spokesman for the Islamic Jihad Movement, stressed in a statement.
Izz al-Din continued, "The occupation government proves every day that it declares total war on our people and uses all the ugly methods that require a response to it in every way."
And vowing that "the resistance will pay the enemy the price for its crimes," the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said in a statement that "this new massacre will not weaken the will of the resistance."
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine also confirmed through a statement that "terrorism and crimes can only be met with more qualitative operations against the occupation."
The Palestinian Liberal Movement said in a statement, "The waterfall of blood in the West Bank confirms the terror government's support for this systematic policy against our people, and proves that only resistance can curb this aggression."
And she continued: "The blood of the martyrs is a trust in the necks of our people and their resistance fighters, whom we call to escalate the clash with the occupation in all arenas in the West Bank."
The Palestinian Mujahideen Movement also called, through a statement, for "the continuation of the state of clash with the occupation to protect the people and avenge the blood of the fighters."
On Sunday morning, the Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraei, said in a statement that "Palestinian gunmen opened fire last night at a military force that was inside a military site at the Jit junction near the city of Nablus."
Adraei added, "A military force from the Golani Brigade fired at the gunmen and managed to neutralize three of them during an exchange of fire."
He pointed out that "another armed man surrendered and was arrested and transferred for interrogation by the security forces."
In a subsequent statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 3 civilians were killed by Israeli army bullets near Nablus.
Since the beginning of 2023, the pace of Israeli incursions into the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has increased significantly, and Palestinians mostly respond to them with individual operations.
Palestine begins transporting 20,000 sleeping bags donated by it to those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria
On Sunday, Palestine announced the start of transporting 20,000 sleeping bags to Turkey, which were manufactured from the proceeds of the donations collected in the "Give them relief" campaign for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
On Sunday, Palestine began procedures for transporting 20,000 sleeping bags to Turkey to support the victims of the earthquakes that struck the south of the country on February 6.
Trucks carrying Palestinian donations departed from the manufacturer of sleeping bags in the city of Hebron (south) to Lod airport in central Israel, in preparation for their direct transfer to Turkey, according to the Anadolu Agency.
"Today, the necessary procedures for transporting sleeping bags to our people in Turkey and Syria through Lod airport have been completed," Raed Al-Saafeen, factory manager of the "Super Tex" company, which manufactures bags, told Anadolu Agency.
He added, "Today, 20,000 pieces will be transferred to Turkey."
Al-Saafeen indicated that another 3,000 sleeping bags will be sent later to Turkey, with a donation from various Palestinian parties.
For his part, the Director General of the Palestinian Zakat Fund at the Ministry of Awqaf, Khaled Khallaf, told Anadolu Agency: "Today, we started loading a batch of 20,000 sleeping bags, donated by the Ministry of Awqaf as part of the campaign (help them) for the earthquake victims."
In the context, the Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Hatem Al-Bakri, said, "The Palestinians have not forgotten the contributions made by Turkey for Palestinian rights and their cause over the past century."
Al-Bakri added, in a statement: "Palestine stands today by Turkey's side in these difficult times."
He pointed out that the sleeping bags that were sent are the proceeds of what was collected in the "Help them" fundraising campaign.
On February 9, the Palestinian Ministry of Religious Endowments, under the directives of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, launched a campaign to collect donations for earthquake victims, and it lasted for 8 days.
Later, the Palestinian Minister of Awqaf announced, in press statements, the start of preparing the bags at a cost of half a million dollars from the donation campaign funds, based on the Turkish vision, following his meeting with the Turkish Consul General in Jerusalem, Ahmed Reza Demir.
On March 6, Al-Bakri announced that the proceeds of the "Help them" campaign managed to collect about 8 million shekels (about $2.2 million).
He pointed out that the rest of the amount was sent after paying the cost of sleeping bags, in cash or in the form of food baskets, to the earthquake areas in Syria and Turkey.
On February 6, earthquakes hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, with a magnitude of 7.7, followed hours later by another with a magnitude of 7.6 and hundreds of violent aftershocks, which left huge losses of lives and property in both countries.
