The Agency of the King Abdul Aziz Complex for the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba carried out maintenance of the Kiswa to preserve its splendor and appearance in its best form, in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.
The representative of the complex, Eng. Amjad Al-Hazmi, said that a specialized Saudi work team affiliated with the General Department for the Maintenance of the Kiswa daily inspects the Kaaba dress and the rings that fix it, and immediately fixes any notes, if any, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Al-Hazmi stressed that the team members work according to the highest standards of accuracy and quality in performance and achievement in a record time, and the latest technologies and the best materials with international specifications are being used in carrying out the cladding maintenance work.
While the Director of the General Department for the Maintenance of the Kiswa, Fahd Al-Jabri, explained that the periodic maintenance work is summarized in installing a cloth with a height of three meters on all sides of the Holy Kaaba.
As well as pulling and weighing the Kaaba dress and fixing it from the sides, in addition to the work of cleaning the cladding from all directions, according to Al-Jabri.
He added that the kinaras (surrounding embroidered pieces) will be changed in both the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner.
