An English fan was killed during a clash after a league match

A Blackpool Football Club fan has died following a mass brawl with Burnley fans, after the two teams played last Saturday in the English First Division, "Championship".

Supporter Tony Johnson, 55, died after suffering serious head injuries outside a pub in Blackpool.

On Tuesday, Blackpool mourned its fans and said in a statement that it was deeply shocked by the death of one of its fans, after a fight in a pub following the Burnley match last Saturday.

Blackpool said in a statement: "Blackpool is deeply shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of supporter Tony Johnson's tragic death."

Police arrested a Burnley fan, in his 30s, on suspicion of causing injury to Johnson, and he was released on bail until June 1.

"CAF" awards the "Excellence" award to the King of Morocco

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced, on Tuesday, the awarding of the “Excellence” award for the year 2022, to Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, and King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

CAF stated on its official website that Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football, will award the awards to the President of Rwanda and the King of Morocco, on the sidelines of the FIFA Congress, which will be held in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, on March 14.

“CAF” stated that the ceremony, which will be held next Tuesday, will start at four o’clock in the afternoon GMT, and will be attended by Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Football Associations “FIFA”, the Executive Committee of “CAF”, the presidents of the “CAF” members, and football legends.
