The Palestinian government has confirmed that it will add the horrific attacks and crimes carried out by settlers in the town of Hawara, Nablus, to the "Israel trial" file.
Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said on Monday that the settler attacks in the town of Hawara, in the northern West Bank, on the night of Sunday-Monday, will be added to the file of "Israel's trial" in international courts.
This came in his speech at the beginning of the weekly session of the Palestinian Council of Ministers in Ramallah.
On Sunday evening, settlers launched dozens of attacks on Palestinian homes and property in towns south of Nablus.
Shtayyeh added, "Last night, we lived a horrific night in which settlers practiced the worst types of crime, including killing, burning, and terrorizing children and women , and this crime will be added to the file of Israel's trial in international courts," according to him.
Shtayyeh held the Israeli government "fully responsible for the settlers' crimes in Hawara and the rest of the surrounding villages," calling for "activating the work of the (Palestinian) People's Protection Committees everywhere."
He said that the government "will form a ministerial committee to find out the damages suffered by our people there for the purpose of contributing to compensating them."
And the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced, "The death of the young man, Sameh Aktash (37 years), and the injury of dozens, in attacks carried out by settlers and the Israeli army, south of Nablus."
On Sunday, two Israelis were killed by shooting at their car near the town of Hawara, as part of a continuous escalation of tension that has resulted since the beginning of this year in the killing of more than 60 Palestinians by Israeli bullets and 10 Israelis by operations carried out by Palestinians.
On the other hand, Shtayyeh said that the Israeli parliament's approval of a law requiring the execution of Palestinian prisoners "did not surprise us, because this government and others practice field executions of our children and youth."
On Sunday, the Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs in the Israeli government approved a bill to implement the death penalty against Palestinian terrorists.
He added, "Israel's naked face is beginning to be revealed to the world. This law is fascist and criminal and will not deter us from continuing to demand our right, freedom and dignity to live in an independent, sovereign, contiguous, viable state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return for refugees."
