Anti-drone guns are an effective weapon in the Russian military operation

It is very difficult to imagine the combat action of Russian military units without the use of hostile "drone hunting" weapons.

Despite the short period that has passed since the use of anti-drone guns, today they have turned into a usual and reliable means of armed struggle in the battlefield.

The Russian media reported for the first time in early June that the ЛПД-801 rifle had been successfully used against small-sized unmanned aerial vehicles in the Russian military operation in Ukraine. It was also reported at the time that this anti-drone gun silences communication, command and navigation channels, and disables the transmission of information received from hostile drones that use Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, Beidou, Galileo and GLONASS.

The rifle resembles a regular collapsible submachine gun. As for its small electric batteries, it was designed in the form of “Aka” automatic rifle stores, and it can be transported in the soldier’s purse. It can also be charged by the electrical circuit or the car battery. The soldier usually has 4 electric batteries of this type.

The gun uses an electric pulse to disable small drones at a distance of 1,500 metres. The silencing of signals is achieved within 3 working systems and the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz radio wave range, and the silencing process requires only a few seconds.

The length of the gun is 970 mm, and its weight without batteries is 3500 grams.

Another rifle popular with Russian soldiers is the "Pishal-Pro" manufactured by the "Kalashnikov" company, which operates at a distance of up to two kilometers, as it limits the capabilities of reconnaissance of the front line and the adjustment of artillery fire.

Both guns operate on the basis of a single working principle, which is to operate electromagnetic radiation in a specific frequency range and to silence radio signals and signals received from the navigation systems adopted by the drones.
