Two Palestinian youths were killed, one of them was shot dead by the Israeli occupation today, in the northern West Bank, and the second succumbed to his injury during the raid on Jenin camp, on Thursday. Meanwhile, the mini-ministerial council in Israel decided to close the home of the perpetrator of the Jerusalem attack in the Nabi Yacoub settlement.
On Sunday, the Palestinian authorities announced the death of two Palestinian youths, one of whom was shot by the Israeli occupation in the northern West Bank, and the second succumbed to his injury during the raid on Jenin camp, on Thursday.
Palestine TV (governmental) reported, in a statement, that "the young man, Karam Ali Salman (18 years), from the village of Qusin in Nablus, was killed by the occupation's shooting near the Qaddumim settlement, which was established on the lands of Qalqilya last night."
The Palestinian Ministry of Health also announced in a brief statement, "The death of Omar Tariq Ali Al-Saadi (24 years old), from severe wounds he sustained in the abdomen with live bullets from the occupation, last Thursday in Jenin."
This brings the number of Palestinians who were killed by army bullets in the Jenin camp raid to 10, according to data from the Ministry of Health, and to 32 since the beginning of the year.
In a separate context, the cabinet in Israel decided to close the house of the perpetrator of the Jerusalem attack in the "Nabi Yacoub" settlement, north of the city, on Friday, the day after an operation in which the Israeli army killed 10 Palestinians.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement that the Cabinet decided during its meeting (late Saturday) to close the house of the perpetrator of the attack, Khairi Alqam, in the Al-Shiyah neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem, who killed 7 Israelis "immediately" in preparation for its demolition.
Netanyahu also announced that the cabinet had decided to deprive the families of the terrorists of national insurance rights and other benefits. He added that he had also decided not to grant identity cards (residence identities) to the families of the perpetrators of the operations, provided that a draft law in this regard would be discussed during the weekly ministerial meeting on Sunday.
On the other hand, Netanyahu confirmed that the cabinet would give more Israelis arms by accelerating and expanding the scope of firearms licenses.
On Friday and Saturday, Jerusalem witnessed two shooting attacks targeting Israelis, killing 7 of them and wounding at least 8, including serious cases. The two operations took place the day after 9 Palestinians were killed in an operation carried out by the Israeli army in the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern occupied West Bank, on Thursday.
Settler attacks
On Sunday morning, Israeli settlers burned a house and attacked Palestinian vehicles and shops in the central and northern West Bank.
In the town of Turmusaya, east of Ramallah (center), settlers burned a house and attacked another.
Awad Abu Samra, the brother of the owner of the targeted house, said that settlers attacked the village at midnight, burned the house of his expatriate brother, and attacked another house next to it.
He added, "The house's cameras showed 13 settlers, 3 of whom carried out the arson attack and 10 were destroying the neighboring house under the protection of the (Israeli) army."
He pointed out that "the army was only 150 meters away from the targeted house," noting that settlers closed the entrance to the town and attacked vehicles.
For his part, the official in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank (a government agency), Ghassan Daghlas, told Anadolu Agency that settlers carried out dozens of attacks on Palestinian property in several villages in Nablus governorate on Sunday night.
He added that the total number of attacks last night "exceeded 140, including burning 6 vehicles, smashing the windows of 120 other vehicles, and attacking more than 20 shops and destroying their contents."
