The Turkmen city of Awaza hosted a tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan's foreign minister stated that his country, Turkey and Azerbaijan aim for mutual cooperation in the geopolitical and geoeconomic terms, and that they are not only brotherly countries.
On Tuesday, the Turkmen city of Awaza hosted a tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
In a press statement before the meeting, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov made it clear that his country, Turkey and Azerbaijan aim for mutually beneficial and multi-faceted cooperation in both geopolitical and geo-economic terms, and are not just sister countries.
He considered international cooperation, regional and bilateral agreements, security, transportation, energy, trade, economy, humanitarian and cultural sectors to be the main sectors of basic cooperation between brotherly countries.
He said, “We confirm our readiness to evaluate opportunities in the aforementioned areas, share our goals, and continue our close cooperation.”
Today's meeting, with the participation of Meredov, his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu and Azerbaijani Jeyhun Bayramov, comes a day before a meeting at the level of leaders of the three countries in Awaza.
