Maduro accuses Colombian president of plotting sabotage in Venezuela

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that his Colombian counterpart, Ivan Duque, is planning sabotage acts in Venezuela aimed at eliminating some officers in security agencies and power institutions.

"Ivan Duque, in cooperation with individual criminals and organizers, plans to send saboteurs across the border, in the form of groups of thieves and criminals, to attack the police, the army and the security forces," Maduro added in a speech broadcast on state television.

According to the Venezuelan leader, President Duque seeks to demoralize Venezuela's security forces in order to deprive them of their effectiveness.

Venezuela rejects Colombian allegations of Russian "interference"
"They plan to kill the cops first, so the police lose their morale and ineffectiveness, and then attack the police and army headquarters. They warn the governors, I'm not trying to stir up the atmosphere. This is the plan of the drug mafia that runs Colombia," he said.
