The Ministry of External Affairs summoned the High Commissioner of Singapore to India regarding this statement and lodged its objection.
new Delhi :The Indian Foreign Ministry has reacted sharply to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Sen's statement regarding the alleged criminal records of MPs in India. According to information received from sources, the Ministry of External Affairs summoned the High Commissioner of Singapore to India regarding this statement and lodged its objection. Government sources said on Thursday, 'Singapore's PM's comment was unnecessary. We are taking up this matter with Singapore. Sources also said that on this issue, the Singapore envoy was summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs and conveyed India's sharp objection.
Significantly, the Singapore PM had said, 'Nehru's India has now become such, where according to media reports, criminal cases including rape, murder charges are pending against more than half the MPs of the Lok Sabha. Although it is also said that many of these allegations are politically motivated.' Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong said this during the discussion on democracy in Singapore's parliament.
Interview with Greg Caskey : The Situation of the Uyghurs
Although the Chinese government's atrocities in the Uyghur Autonomous Region are now widely known as the "Uyghur Massacre," the recent report on why this historic tragedy is now emerging in detail explains in a recent report, "The State of the Wild and Forced Assimilation: The Situation of the Uyghurs." The report, co-authored by Dr. Gregory W. Caskey of George Mason University and Ilya Murtazashvili of the University of Pittsburgh, summarizes the current economic situation in China over the past two decades.
According to the report, the repression faced by the Uyghurs over the past 70 years has increased in size and scale from small to large. In particular, the 70-year political upheaval in the Uyghur diaspora, given in the first part of the report, vividly illustrates the gradual expansion of the Chinese state in political, economic, military, and demographic terms. As a result, the Chinese government, which has gained a lot of self-confidence in all aspects, has launched a new assimilation strategy in 2016, including the creation of a huge camp system and forced labor to exterminate the Uyghurs through Chineseization. With this, Chen Chuanguo completed what he had done in Tibet for five years in Uyghur territory in just one year. Throughout this "development", the Chinese state has benefited and the Uyghurs have been oppressed. The authors interpret the phenomenon according to the "predatory state theory." Speaking about the term during our conversation on the subject, Dr. Gregory says:
"It simply came to our notice then. In this case, the interests of the ruling elite are higher than the interests of the people as a whole. I mean, I'm an economist. That is why for the past ten years I have been observing the relationship between the state and its citizens, not in the common ways, but in the characteristics of the "predatory state." According to this theory, the state should originally be a car that protects citizens. But the Chinese model has been the opposite. The ruling party has consistently relied on the authorities to seduce the citizens and take over all their rights. In other words, there is no logic to protect citizens.
According to the report, when it comes to oppression in the Uyghur diaspora, its peak is positively related to Xi Jinping's rise to power. It is also widely known that Xi Jinping is likening himself to Mao Zedong. At the same time, the Chinese central government has established a guiding principle that "the dictatorial authorities must not be merciless in their fight against the 'three forces.' "It simply came to our notice then. Because for the past ten years we have believed that if China is rich, it will lead to democracy. But the current reality is just the opposite. This is especially true after Xi Jinping came to power. The fact that the People's Republic of China is a one-party state is not new. One of the key points in the report is the relationship between Xi Jinping's tenure as president and his presidency. Oppression also existed during the Hu Jintao era. But under Xi Jinping, a more centralized political system emerged. A group of people who live in the shadow of Xi Jinping are using this system to make themselves fat. The consequences for those who oppose this model have become even more tragic. In such a power-centric system, the cost of oppression is also low. As a result, the peak of oppression perpetrated by the Chinese government came during the Xi Jinping era. When I visited Urumqi and Kashgar in 2014, I noticed that Chinese troops were patrolling everywhere, and that the situation of the Uyghurs was dire. But the situation has worsened over the next few years. I would say that it is safe to say that during Xi Jinping's tenure, political power played an important role in this process. "
Xi Jinping's extraordinarily energetic national policies have essentially made the decentralization of power a national policy, facilitating the monitoring of non-Chinese through high technology and the successful completion of the "One Belt One Road" project, which is crucial to China's future. The political, economic, and military empowerment of the Chinese state has externally guaranteed the enforced assimilation of the "endangered Uyghurs." Speaking of which, Dr. Gregory says.
"It simply came to our notice then. This is a reality that leads to deeper problems. Seeing the Uyghurs as a threat to the security of the Chinese state is no longer the case in 2016. But the most important question now is why do these things happen after 2016? Some argue that one of the most important reasons for this is that Xi Jinping has an idea in his mind that "Uyghurs are the biggest threat now than at any time in the past." Nor is it necessary for us to accept this view as absolute truth. Because we don't know what's going on in Xi Jinping's mind. But what we do know is that changes in the outside world have created conditions for a "cost-benefit" analysis. Centralization of power and high science and technology have reduced the cost of predatory policies. One last point is the Chinese government's "One Belt One Road" project. The area from western China to Kazakhstan and Pakistan is a very important area in this project. It is imperative that a number of politically motivated measures be taken to ensure the sustainable development of this massively invested and massive project. Of course, I do not mean to say that taking these measures creates stability. For these violence and slander have already prepared a place for boundless anger and hatred and enmity.
According to the report, Xi Jinping included statements in the Chinese Communist Party's Party Constitution in 2017 on the implementation of the "Chinese dream" under the leadership of Xi Jinping to cover up his dictatorial system of government. It highlights the "future prospects" of the Chinese state as the world's masters, thus sending a message of "shut your mouth" to any anthem against Xi Jinping. An important milestone in this process was the fact that the Chinese state was a nation-state and that it was better and more beneficial for the Uyghurs who were "obstructing" it to exist as a unique people, in essence, becoming human beings of the same type as themselves. Speaking of which, Dr. Gregory says:
"Xi Jinping's presidency and the policies he is pursuing are being applauded with colorful praises." One of these praises is the propaganda about the "Chinese dream." The Chinese want to expand their policies to this extent, taking into account the whole world. But this is just propaganda. Resistance movements in 2014, centralization of power, high-tech facilities and the One Belt One Road are among the factors driving China's dream of global domination. But I don't think that's the case. The Uyghurs, as a very hardworking and professional people, have made a significant contribution to any field of society. "
It is alleged that the ambassador provided the information to Hussein. At the same time, it is important to note that this oppression is not only aimed at the Uyghurs, but also because the Chinese government is trying to change the whole world like China.
