Army Chopper Crash Updates: An Air Force helicopter has crashed in Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday afternoon. Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat was also aboard this chopper. It is known that he was accompanied by his wife Madhulika Rawat and many other military officers. 

New Delhi: An unfortunate incident of a crash of an Air Force chopper has happened in the state of Tamil Nadu. An  IAF chopper crashed on Wednesday afternoon in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu  . This news has been confirmed that General Bipin Rawat, who was the Army Chief and now serving as the Chief of Defense Staff, was also aboard this chopper. It is known that he was accompanied by his wife Madhulika Rawat and many other military officers. Confirming the accident, the Indian Air Force said that the cause of the accident is being investigated.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will give detailed information about this helicopter accident in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu in both the houses today. According to sources, Rajnath Singh will make a statement in the Lok Sabha today at 11:15 am and then in the Rajya Sabha in the afternoon.

Significantly, General Bipin Rawat has died in a helicopter accident. There were 14 people in this helicopter including General Rawat, his wife. The helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in which he was on board has crashed in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu.
