Apple's first AR glasses are supposed to be released in the last quarter of 2022

Apple's first AR glasses are supposed to be released in the last quarter of 2022 According to trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Koo had predicted last March that the glasses would be released sometime next year, and he is now also providing more technical information about them. The augmented reality glasses project - which has been rumored for a long time - is scheduled to bear its first fruits late next year, with the launch of the first device carrying a pair of processors to support its advanced capabilities. The glasses contain two processors, one with the same power as the M1 processor, and the other with low power to handle inputs from different sensors. Koo says that the glasses include between 6 and 8 optical processors, to provide continuous augmented reality services for video simultaneously. In comparison, the iPhone requires up to 3 optical processors to operate simultaneously, as well as autonomously. It is also said that the glasses will be able to support virtual reality experiences, thanks to a pair of "4K Micro OLED" screens from Sony. The company plans to support a comprehensive suite of apps, with a focus on replacing the iPhone within 10 years. Reports about the device differed as to whether it was completely standalone or dependent on the iPhone. Kuo seems convinced that the glasses will be a platform independent, however, he wrote: "If the augmented reality glasses are attached to a Mac or iPhone, it will not lead to the growth of the product." He added: "Augmented reality glasses that work independently mean that they have their own operating system, and provide a more complete and flexible user experience." Moreover, Kuo said earlier this month that both the upcoming glasses and the iPhone 14 lineup that will be released next year, will support Wi-Fi 6E technology that provides greater bandwidth.
