“The Factory” A TRT Documentary Reveals France’s Relationships with ISIS and the PKK Terrorists
The film is entitled "The Factory" and highlights the fact that the French cement company "Lafarge" paid millions of dollars to the two terrorist organizations in Syria, with the knowledge of French intelligence.
A Turkish documentary has shed light on suspicious ties between French intelligence and Lafarge, the French cement giant, with the terrorist organization PKK and ISIS in Syria.
The documentary was entitled "The Factory", the first part of which was broadcast on TRT channels on Friday, and the second part will be broadcast on Sunday evening.
Through documents and eyewitnesses, the film revealed in the first part that the giant cement industry, which is close to the French government, paid tens of millions of dollars to the two organizations mentioned while working in Syria.
He explained that the payment of these sums came in exchange for allowing the work of the French company, whose factory was located 50 km south of the city of "Ain al-Arab" in Syria, to continue, pointing out that this was taking place with the knowledge of the French intelligence.
And through a company document dating back to 2011, it was proven that it paid millions of dollars to the PKK terrorist organization either in the name of donations and taxes or in exchange for the release of workers for it.
Electronic correspondences of the company's two managers reached by TRT revealed that between 2013-2014, "Lafarge" paid tens of thousands of euros to ISIS terrorist organization per month to continue its activities in the country.
The same correspondence revealed that the company was purchasing millions of dollars worth of crude oil from the terrorist organization that was controlling oil wells in Syria.
The documentary also made it clear that France was supporting these suspicious relations with the company, pointing out that its foreign minister at the time, Laurent Fabius, had advised the Vice President of "Lafarge" Christian Herault at that time that the company should remain in Syria.
The film also indicated that former French President Nicolas Sarkozy had held talks with the President of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad, about the company's entry into the Syrian market.
And "Lafarge" is financed by 16 banks such as the French Development Agency and the European Investment Bank, in addition to Lebanon, Jordan and Denmark, but the second bank provides 45% of the company's financing.
It is worth noting that the Anadolu Agency had previously obtained documents proving that French intelligence knew of the financing of the aforementioned company for the terrorist organization ISIS.
The documents indicated that the internal, foreign and military intelligence units in France were constantly providing information about the relationship of "Lafarge", which is the largest cement factory in the world, to the terrorist organization.
Last September, the French Court of Cassation did not adopt an appellate ruling to cancel the accusation of "complicity in crimes against humanity" against Lafarge due to its activities in Syria, and decided to cancel it.
After an internal investigation, Lafarge admitted that it was its Syrian company that paid the two terrorist organizations to continue its work in this Arab country after 2011, but it rejects the charges brought against it.
The decision of the Court of Cassation, the highest French judicial body, constituted a major setback for the company.(TRT Arabi)
