The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, on Saturday, with the delegation of the Afghan caretaker government headed by Amir Khan Muttaki, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, issues of human rights and humanitarian aid.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Al Thani met with the Afghan caretaker government delegation, which is currently visiting Doha, without details of the visit's duration and details.
According to the statement, during the meeting, they "reviewed the relations of cooperation between the two countries, issues related to combating terrorism, promoting human rights, and humanitarian aid."
The two sides stressed the "importance of humanitarian aid reaching the deserving Afghan people, especially with the approach of winter," according to the same statement.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar stressed the "importance of ensuring that schools continue to operate in Afghanistan, and the need to provide educational opportunities for all segments of Afghan society, especially girls."
Al-Thani also renewed his country's commitment to continue working with the Afghan parties and international partners to promote stability in Afghanistan.
The caretaker government delegation expressed its thanks and appreciation to Qatar for its constructive role in Afghanistan at the humanitarian and diplomatic levels, and for its continuous support for the Afghan people in order to achieve security and stability in Afghanistan.
And in the middle of last August, the "Taliban" took control of Afghanistan completely, paralleling the last stage of a US military withdrawal from the country that was completed at the end of the same month.
The countries of the world are still reluctant to recognize the rule of the "Taliban", linking this to the behavior of the movement, especially respect for human rights, and not allowing "terrorists" to operate in the country.
On Saturday, the Afghan delegation in Doha continued its talks with an American delegation led by Special Representative for Afghanistan Tom West.
Mottaki had announced, in press statements, that he would discuss in Doha with US officials lifting the ban on Afghan assets abroad, and opening a new page in relations with Washington.
This is a humanitarian ground.
