Six of the Qatar 2022 World Cup stadiums were decorated to host the Arab Cup, which will start on November 30, with the participation of 16 Arab teams from the continents of Asia and Africa.

The tournament will witness the announcement of the readiness of the stadiums "Al Bait" and "Ras Abu Aboud", to join the rest of the stadiums that were previously announced, which are the stadiums of "Al Janoub", "Education City", "Ahmed bin Ali" and "Al Thumama". Who announced his readiness during the final of the Emir of Qatar Cup last month.

The Arab Cup is being held for the first time under the umbrella of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), and it lasts for 19 days, during which 32 matches are played.

The tournament is a reflection of the passion of the peoples of the region for the round witch, and is an ideal opportunity to improve the readiness of operations and facilities for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which begins less than a year after the conclusion of the Arab Cup competitions.

On Monday, the Qatar Legacy and Projects Committee issued a report on the six stadiums, and it came as follows:

1- Al Bayt Stadium:

Capacity: 60 thousand seats

Opening: 30 November 2021

It is the largest stadium for the Qatar World Cup 2022, and will host five matches during the Arab Cup, starting with the Qatar-Bahrain match on the first day of the tournament, and concluding with the final match on December 18.

The stadium is located in the city of Al Khor, north of Doha, and it embodies the house with its distinctive design, which is an authentic aspect of Arab culture, as its design was inspired by the poetry house inhabited by Arabs throughout the region.

2- Ras Abu Aboud Stadium

Capacity: 40,000 fans

Opening: 30 November 2021

It is distinguished by its unique design and construction method using shipping containers, setting new standards in the world of sustainability for major tournaments and events.

The stadium will host six matches during the Arab Cup, starting on the first day of the tournament and ending with a match to determine the third place winner.

It is the first stadium that can be completely dismantled in the history of the World Cup, as its parts are scheduled to be used in the development of other sports projects in Qatar and other countries, after the curtain falls on the 2022 World Cup competitions.

3- Al Thumama Stadium

Capacity: 40,000 fans

Opening: October 22, 2021

Al Thumama Stadium was announced last month during the Qatar Emir Cup final, and is equipped to host several matches in the Arab Cup, starting from the first rounds to the semi-finals.

Qatari architect Ibrahim Al Jaidah created the stadium design inspired by the “gahfiya” shape, a traditional hat worn by men and boys throughout the Arab world, and is the first World Cup stadium designed with Qatari hands.

4- Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium

Capacity: 40,000 fans

Opening date: December 18, 2020

The readiness of Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium was announced last December, when it hosted the final of the 48th edition of the Emir of Qatar Cup.

It is one of the stadiums scheduled to host the group stage matches in the Arab Cup, and after the end of the 2022 World Cup, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium will become the headquarters of Al Rayyan Sports Club.

5- Education City Stadium

Capacity: 40,000 fans

Opening: June 15, 2020

It is one of the stadiums that will host the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup, and it witnessed the Club World Cup final early this year.

Education City Stadium, known as the Jewel of the Desert, is located in the heart of Education City, an educational complex brimming with thought, knowledge and creativity.

After the curtain falls on the World Cup competitions, the "Education City" stadium will become a sports, entertainment and service destination that meets the needs and aspirations of all members of Education City's universities and institutes.

6- Al Janoub Stadium

Capacity: 40,000 fans

Opening date: May 16, 2019

It is located in the city of Al-Wakra, to the south of the capital, Doha, and is the first stadium to be fully built specifically to host the 2022 World Cup.

The late Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid was inspired by the design of the stadium from the sails of traditional boats that carried Qataris out to sea to fish and search for pearls, which formed the main economic activity for the residents of Qatar and the region

It is scheduled to host several matches in the Arab Cup until the quarter-finals.

All of these sports facilities were built under the supervision of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, a government institution established in 2011 to take charge of implementing the infrastructure projects needed to host the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Its duties also include setting plans and carrying out the operational processes that Qatar conducts as a host country for the Arab Cup, and aims to contribute to accelerating the wheel of development and achieving the country’s development goals, leaving a lasting legacy for the State of Qatar, the region and the world.

Qatar will host the World Cup from November 21 to December 18, 2022, with the participation of 32 teams competing for 8 stadiums.(AA)
