The head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas abroad, Khaled Meshaal, said that the head of the movement's political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, called the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied city of Jerusalem and "raised their morale."
Meshaal added, in statements he delivered during a conference in Istanbul, according to a statement distributed by the "Al-Quds International Foundation", on Monday, that "Haniyeh raised the morale of Sheikh Jarrah's people and gave them a guarantee of resistance."
He pointed out that what happened in the last month of Ramadan "is repeated, and will be repeated, even if the abusers of the Zionists tampered and thought that they could cancel the effect of the Battle of the Sword of Jerusalem."
And last Ramadan, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas in Gaza, fired missiles towards the occupied city of Jerusalem in light of the continued storming of Al-Aqsa by settlers, as well as Israel’s efforts to displace the residents of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, which led at the time to the outbreak of the “Battle of the Sword of Jerusalem” and attacked The occupation of Gaza, while the rockets of the resistance fell on sensitive and large cities such as Tel Aviv.
Khaled Meshaal's statements came just one day before the Israeli Supreme Court in occupied Jerusalem will consider the Sheikh Jarrah case and the deadline for handing over the settlement on the neighborhood.
On Monday, the Israeli Supreme Court authorized the confiscation of a plot of land measuring 4,700 square meters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem.
Kamal Obeidat, head of the Chamber of Commerce in Jerusalem, said that the Israeli Supreme Court rejected the petition submitted by the Palestinian families who own the land, against the decision to confiscate it from the Israeli municipality.
The Israeli Supreme Court is the highest judicial body in Israel, and its decisions cannot be appealed.
Obeidat, one of the landowners, told Anadolu Agency: "The occupation municipality has been trying for more than 20 years to confiscate the land owned by four Palestinian families, namely Obeidat, Mansour, Jarallah and Odeh."
Obeidat stated that the land area is 4700 square meters, and has been used for many years as a parking lot for cars and buses.
He continued, "The Israeli municipality claims that it wants the land, for the purpose of allocating it as public utilities and establishing a garden for a hotel, which will be built in the area."
However, Obeidat indicated that the main objective of confiscating the land was to "use it as a position for settlers."
The land is adjacent to dozens of Palestinian homes threatened with eviction in favor of Israeli settlers in the neighborhood.
The Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem is witnessing continuous Israeli attempts to seize Palestinian land and real estate.
